camos CPQ for switchgear at Siemens

Stuttgart, August 22, 2019 - By introducing a CPQ solution, Siemens AG is accelerating its sales and quotation processes in the field of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). The flexible Configure-Price-Quote solution of camos Software and Beratung GmbH now provides a digital connection between the customer and the production of switchgear. With the help of the software, the sales department can individually configure the highly complex and variant-rich switchgear - even in customer meetings on site. Automatically generated offers and product documentation are available to customers as configuration results. Parts lists are transferred from the CPQ to the ERP system via an interface. This supports the end-to-end digital process from quotation to production.

Siemens relies particularly on the speed of the camos CPQ system and achieves an essential goal right from the start: The time for preparing quotations for gas-insulated switchgear was reduced to just a few days. Using predefined system components, a customer-specific complete system can be configured in the shortest possible time by drag-and-drop. An additional time advantage results from the fact that camos CPQ as an integrated configuration, calculation and quotation tool largely eliminates time-consuming system breaks in the sales process. In addition, the rule-based configuration enables Siemens to support its customers even more individually and intensively in the GIS area in the future.

"The camos CPQ tool is an important step towards digital quotation creation for high-voltage switchgear at Siemens," says Michael Resch, head of quotation creation for high-voltage switchgear. "It's impressive how quickly we can now create the configuration, calculation and all the quotation documentation with just one tool. We have already received very positive feedback from our customers for the new detailed and representative quotation documentation".
