Modern System Architecture
The camos applications function according to the Client/Server principle and are based on a 3 tier architecture. Different clients can communicate with the application server under MS-Windows and in a Web browser – also using mobile equipment. The replication of the data to the central data pool can be performed via camos’ own replication.
Integrated Web Capability
The complete camos Application Suite can be used via the Web – access is possible with standard browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer). Only minimal quantities of data, even for complex applications, are transmitted so that good performance is achieved even with low bandwidths. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption guarantees the security of the data.
Flexible Standard Interfaces
camos uses the flexibility and openness of COM technology (Component Object Model) and the XML standard (eXtensible Markup Language). Thus, all software modules can be easily connected to other applications (e.g. CAD, ERP, PLM). Customer databases – also existing ones – are integrated using ODBC (Open Database Connector).
Independent Offline Usage
The camos software modules can also be used offline independently of the ERP systems. In this way, all functions of the CRM system, the product configurator or the quotation generation are available – e.g. for the field sales force or at customer sites. Well-engineered replication mechanisms ensure smooth exchange of data with the central database.
Highest Possible Security
Every camos application has its own access control – the users log in with user names and passwords. The data transfer in Client/Server operation, e.g. over the Internet, can be encrypted via SSL. All data are either binary encrypted or can be encrypted in the database. Thus confidential data also remains really secure.
