A study of the "Institut für Fertigungstechnik und Werkzeugmaschinen (IFW)" at the Leibniz University Hannover shows, that software for process planning primarily reduces scheduling times and complaints within the manufacturing department. Eight leading solution providers and 80 of their customers took part. Also did camos with its knowledge-based software, where the process planning is part of the complete process chain including all the steps from the inquiry to the production.
