Cutting edge technology enlarges Product Configurator

The specialist for product configurators, camos, has expanded its development tool by yet a further function. The upshot: camos solutions are even more user friendly than ever before with Release 6.0. And the expense for product maintenance decreases. This is the way camos is expanding its market leadership even more.
Through object relational mapping (object oriented data can be depicted on relational data) product knowledge can be modelled even more easily and quickly. In ideal situations, one simple command is sufficient to complete product specific adaptations. Since SQL statements are automatically generated, manual logging errors are eliminated.
The text manager makes it possible to maintain textual elements outside the product knowledge realm. Developers and external users can access textual elements in parallel fashion directly out of the development system. Texts in several languages are maintained in a central dictionary.
Another brand new addition: the Recommendation Rules. As a supplement to the classic rules of configuration “Permitted” and “Prohibited”, they open further latitude of activity in product configuration for the sales department. The result of a configuration rule is thus infinitely scalable, from “optimally suited” all the way to “not possible”. With this feature, the sales personnel can now not merely recognize whether a configuration is permitted or prohibited, but instantly see whether the requirements can be suitably fulfilled or less so.
