The company
Scheidt & Bachmann was founded in 1872. Today the company of tradition presents itself as an innovative system house.
In the four more or less independent distribution fields, systems are developed, produced and distributed for car parks and leisure centres, signal technology, fare collection and petrol stations. The company counts nearly 2,000 employees, is worldwide present with 22 subsidiaries and makes a turnover of about 240 million Euros. Scheidt & Bachmann follows it´s strengths with all consequences and introduce systematically innovation processes. This is one of the main reasons, why in all it´s market fields, Scheidt & Bachmann is amongst the market leaders in Europe and the World.
The camos project
Scheidt & Bachmann, for its project entitled COPE - Configuration-oriented Order Processing and Engineering - in the business segment “Systems for Park Buildings and Leisure Facilities Areas”, has adopted camos Configurator as its product configurator, together with camos Quotation for generating quotations and processing orders. With this solution, a large part of the national and soon-to-follow also international price quotations will be generated. The solution permits a wide variety of branches, subsidiaries and representative offices to create customer-designed solutions, outline their sales process and generate the appropriate quotations. In spite of the high degree of complexity of configuring entire systems, e.g. for individual vehicle barriers all the way to wide ranging airport systems consisting of numerous parking buildings, the corresponding number of field vehicles and conveyor belts, the time required for generating quotations for these systems for sales purposes has been radically shortened. In addition, automated item lists and production orders are also integral parts of the order processing. For this, more than 90% of the items are already pre-programmed elements of the sales configuration. Through far-sighted management of the repertoire of versions and synchronization with the operative manufacturing plan system, even anticipated (and typical) alterations and changes which occur later on can easily be handled. The software solution makes an immense contribution to raise the reutilisation quotient of tried-and-tested components and to synchronize the controlled distribution of knowledge within the organization of Scheidt & Bachmann and the network of their associates. The individual benefits accruing from deploying the configurator increase the overall level of customer satisfaction, since customer-oriented offers and quotations are improved in time and quality and all desired products are delivered in the technically correct version.
