The company
Hans Liebherr founded the family-run company Liebherr in 1949. The enduring success of the world’s first mobile, easily assembled tower slewing cranes formed the cornerstone of the Liebherr assembly of corporate divisions. The decentrally organised group is sub-divided into contained, independently operating business units. This system ensures nearness to customers, as well as the capability of reacting flexibly to market signals in globally competitive fields.
The parent company of the corporate group is Liebherr International AG in Bulle, Switzerland, owned in entirety by members of the Liebherr family. The family-run company is being jointly managed in its second generation by brother and sister Isolde Liebherr and Willi Liebherr.
At the Liebherr Factory Biberach GmbH, the company offers a programme of construction cranes more diverse than any other. It comprises equipment including all systems and sizes, providing a suitable hoisting solution for any and all superstructural engineering requirements. The flexible quick-action cranes and high performance top-slewing cranes prove their mettle in the erecting of apartment houses as well as the industrial construction of large-scale projects all over the world.
The camos project
Since Liebherr has gathered fruitful and positive experience in the past through its association with the Stuttgart firm of camos Software und Beratung GmbH, the bidder’s offer was awarded with acceptance. The decision to introduce an Internet-based system was further enhanced by the fact that its users all over the world have instant access to the latest data and prices. By means of a standardised solution, products are depicted uniformly at all locations. In addition, the project team devised a modular crane structure for the camos Configurator solution. In this way, the complexity of the apparatus was reduced in exemplary and easily graspable fashion: from the far more than 100,000 articles in the ERP system, the quotation generation system makes available about 2,500 components for configuration purposes.
